Every time I go to an orienteering event, I’m reminded that orienteers are the nicest people. Thanks for everyone’s kind comments and a huge thanks to everyone who had fun. It’s worth all the hard work to see so many people so happy.
Everyone was pleased to hear that Phil was fine after his painful “dismount” on the way to the finish on Saturday and is even hoping to be fit enough to ride at the ACT Champs on Sunday in Canberra!
It was so exciting to see the huge number of riders in the Open categories and their times were very impresssive. It’s always expected that the winners will be very quick, but so many of these riders put in very strong rides to come in with great times.
The other classes also had heaps of good riders so that winning a place was the result of a real achievement of riding, correct route choice and navigation skills.
